A German communique states: All attacks northward of the Somme were magnificently repulsed. Fighting is still proceeding round small English positions near Courcelletto, Flors, and westward of Losbocnfs. A ery definite attacks developed south of the Somme with ceaseless artilleryiug. There is increased Russian activity on the whole of Prince Leopold’s front northward of Pinsk. Enemy attacks westward of Luck on a twentykilometre front at Zaturcky and Pastomyty, advancing in numerous waves, .completely failed, with the most severe losses ,which in some places were fearful. A most vigorous attack against General Boehmermollis’ army between Sereth and the Strypa, northward o.* Zberow, also the attacks against General You F.ben, broke down. The enemy’s strong forces attacking the Archduke Karl upon the Marajowka were pressed back. The Roumanians aiy, advancing against the Kokcl section on both sides of Ezokelymlharhoiy. General Maokenspn’s pursuit in Dohrndja continues.. Isolated enemy warships are bombarding Kavalla. x
