TERMS OF SETTLEMENT OF LEVY CASE. Per Press Association. Wellington, September !(>. The terms of settlement in the Levy case has been announced by the Hon. Mr Myers (Minister in charge of Muni. tions and Supplies). The cancellation of the Company's contract stands. Of the goods which are valued at €IO.OOO, the garments stated to have been sewn with linen thread, the Minister will accept delivery, provided they comply with the specifications. He will permit Levy to re-sew with linen thread the garments valued at £15,500 which were delivered but rejected. He. will consent to Levy being relieved of 64721 worth of khaki clothes, provided it is of New Zealand manufacture and in perfect condition. The Government refuses to give special consideration to Levy, owing to the strain on the finances. Levy to pay the Government the sum of £2OOO in settlement of tho claim by the Crown ; Levy to pay the fine of £SO and costs imposed, in accordance with the conviction, and publicity to be given to the full terms of settlement and the terms made by the Crown and accepted by Messrs Gray and Jackson (Levy's counsel).
