What is to be the function of the police in respect to the Military Service Act? How far the police are to come into the case of any Reservist depends on the man himself. If he takes the trouble to read the advertisement in this issue or a poster, or if ho calls at a post-office, he will learn, how to avoid any embarrassing or worrying attentions from the police. Constables are authorised to question a Reservist on the subject; of enrolment, and they have power to detain a man if they are not satisfied with his replies. Every Reservist should make prompt application for a certificate of enrolment which satisfies the police. This document also acts as a passport to employment.
