Extensive floods have occurred in, the Wangaratta, Kerang and Nathalie districts. Launceston, August 30. Exceptionally heavy floods have occurred in the northern rivers. A WAVE OF IMMORALITY. (Received 10.10 a.m.) Sydney, August 30. Giving evidence at the Venereal Commission Dr.• Sir Herbert Maitland said that a wave of immorality was sweeping over us. In seven months at one hospital two thousand men had been treated. He strongly urged toleration and the stringent inspection of a certain class ol women and houses.
