FOLEY'S PICTURES. "BRIGADIER GERARD." A stage success doey.not necessarily moan a screen success. How the picture will turn out depends entirely upon the actors. That, however, oar. not bo said of Lewis Waller's pai formance at His Majesty's Theatre last night, in the screen version of •"Brigadier Gerard," in which he is supported by Miss Madge Titheradgo. Conan Doyle's tales of the exploits o: this dashing cavalry officer are we:: known; so, too, is the drama based on them, for Waller made it popular dur ing his Australian tour a iew year|| hack. Waller, of course, IHa I the role of the Brigadier, who is trusted by Napoleon on an important! mission, wherein ho meets the Countess de Rocquelaure (Miss Titheradge). She aids him in all his fighta and flights in the Emperor's .service, and proves her ingenuity time after time, not only in hoodwinking the insurrectionists, but in an affaire de coeur when the Brigadier accomplishes his mission. "Brigadier Gerard" is an all-English production in five j.] acts, and will be screened for the hist time to-night.
