Vienna, August 17. Official: Staraobozyna Hill, the capital of the district, has been captured. The Russian advances southward of Moldawa and Ingper, on the Ristritza, failed. Generals Bothmer’s and Mollis’ armies were engaged fighting, with the greatest violence, on Wednesday, between Prepolikni and Piedaki. The enemy, for twelve hours uninterruptedly threw masses against us. Most of the assaults were broken before our entanglements. Wherever the enemy entered our trenches, as at Manajov, they have since been driven out. THE AUSTRIAN LOSSES. Press Association—Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. Geneva, August 17. The Austrian Red Cross estimates the Austrian losses in General Prussi--I<ill’s offensive on July 7 amounted to 097,71 b, whereof 7(3,000 were killed and 300,000 are missing. Austrian losses now exceed a million.
