EXAMINATION OF MAILS. Press Association—Copyright, Austras lian and N.Z. Cable Association. Washington, August 15. Great Britain’s explanation of the examination of mails states it has been proved that the bags from ore 'neutral country to another have contained rubber and coffee, disguised a c papers. What appeared in business circulars was really German propaganda, thus it was difficult to pass mails without examination. The despatch also shows why mails are facilitated by examination in London, rather than elsewhere. THE END OF THE WAR. The New York World’s London correspondent says that advice received by American business men in London indicates that the neutrals have a ■ growing belief in the approaching end of the ..war. Most forecasts indicate ! early in 1917, while some believe the termination will come, in November.
