LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
(Per Press Association). Wellington, July 31- '] '■>■ Council met at 8.30.p f m. Leave of absence for tbe remainder of the session, on account of illness, was granted Hon. Sir C. C. Bowen. A motion was passed placing on record the Council’s appreciation of the services of the late Dir J. H. Itscott, M.P. On the motion of Sir F. H. I). Bell, the amendments to the h inance Lull, already passed in the House of Representatives, were agreed to. Hon. A. T. Maginnity gave notice to ask whether the appointment of Sii Thomas -Mackenzie to the Dardanelles Commission, was made with the approval of the Government, and whether the correspondence with the Impenal Government on the subject will be laid on the table. The Council rose at 2.10 p.m.
