Dotails of the crime are vague, and the identity of tho murderer is unknown.
FULLER ACCOUNT OF THE TRAGEDY. A COLD-BLOODED CRIME. BURGLARY AND INCENDARISM PRECEDES MURDER. CAPTURE OF THE MURDER. To Kuiti, July 29. Two men working on Rolleston's sheep farm, seventeen miles from Mangnpehi, were yesterday shot by 'a ' Rai'otongan named Tui Kaimuka. 1 Kenneth Livingston (shepherd) was ! killed and Charles Frederick Mac- j Farlane (manager) was wounded. Hie men were working at a fence and observed their whare on fire. Investigation showed that the whare had been bi'Okeii into and deliberately fired. They looked for the culprit in the bush. The native shot Livingstone, who fell. The Secoiid shot 'hit MacFarlane, who ran for help, and three other shdts hit MacFarlatte be> fore the Native gave up the chase.. Upon help being obtained, it was found .that Livingstone's body, had been dragged into the hush and another shot put through the head. The murderer, who lives seven miles from Rolleston's, rode thither after committing the crime, and shot his own horse, caught another, androde it away. MacFarlane, who is badly hurt, was taken to the Hamil on Hospital. All the police in the district went in search of the murder last nigh , and ho was arrested early this morning.
