THE MIDHIRST DAIRY COMPANY

[To Thk Editob Stkatfoud Post.] Sir, —Your representative's report of the question raised Uy tne at the Midhirst Dairy Company's annual meeting, liekl on .Monday l« st ) «' as " rather vague and calculated, I fear, to cause a misconception of what 1 really meant. Now—with your kind permission, Sir, 1 would like to state briefly what 1 intended to convey to the meeting, and which was couched in the following words:—''For several years past the management of our store has been criticised, and. often unjustly, 1 fear. Mr Kleeman has been called to account when lie has not deserved it, and seeing that he has never had a commercial training, and also has multitudinous duties to perform in connection with the factory, I think he does remarkably well, and I think Mr Kleeman would be pleased to bo relieved of the store [work." I also remarked, that I thought the time had come when we should extend our business and so be able to supply everything the suppliers needed in the grocery lino, and I further moved a resolution to the effect that it be a recommendation to the' Directors to "make overtures to Mr P. Hiarkness for the purchase of his business, and if that eventuated, the volume of business would be so great, that it would necessitate the appointment of a. Manager solely ior the store, and thus free Mr Kleeman, who was doing this work purely as an extra, and for which he received r.u extra remuneration. I trust, Sir, Uiat you will be good enough to publish the foregoing, as your report which a|>peared in Tuesday's issue, would give the impression that.l was casting a reflection upon our store management. Thanking you in anticipation.—l am, P. 11. WELLINGTON.
