HOTELS EARLY CLOSING.
ACTION OF DIOCESAN SYNOD. Per Press Association. Wellington, July 10. After a discussion lasting over several sittings, the Welling on Diocesan Synod to-day adopted the following resolutions: (1) That in the opinion of this Synod it will be in the interests of the country to close the bars of hotels at 8 p.m., also to forbid the practice of shouting during the period of the war;, (2) that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Government urging it to bring in legislation to this effect or to authorise a referendum on the subject.
