THE EIMEMY DEFEATED. GENERAL SMUTS' SUCCESS. GERMANS AMONG THE PRISONERS. The High Commissioner reports:— London, June 2(5 (5.30 p.m.) CJenerul Smuts reports: On Saturday the enemy were heavily defeated at the Lukigura river, forty miles southward of Haudens. The enemy were in a strong position in dense hush westward of the river. , We frontally attacked in the morning, and another column, after a night march, fell on the left flank in the rear. A pom-pom, two machine guns, and numerous prisoners, including eleven Hermans, were eaptured. Our casualties were four killed and twenty wounded.- The enemy’s losses were severe.
