A communique states: We carried a redoubt by a coup de main, three versts south of Zminy, on the Styr, We bayonetted the garrison after a fierce resistance, and captured two heavy guns. Many German attacks on this front have been repulsed, the enemy falling back owing •to their growing losses. We captured eight hundred unwounded prisoners, half of whom wore Germans, and fifteen mac-hine-guns. Tlie enemy trenches were iilled with heaps of corpses, and with men suffering from bayonet wounds. GERMAN FORCES NOT STRONG ENOUGH. London, June 25. Tho Times' correspondent at Petrograd reports that despite obstinate German attacks south of Smorgen, the Russian military officials are not considering an attempt to pierce the line.
