A man dressed in naval uniform, accompanied by a young woman, hired a motor car in the city, and when ■ near Dural, they made a pretext for the driver to examine the tank. W hen j the driver sought to remount the man presented a revolver and declared him-1 self an escaped German prisoner, who had no intention of being caught. He and the woman drove away at lull speed. The driver reported the matter to the police, who have tailed to find a trace. THE CAR ABANDONED. (Received 9.55 a.m.) Sydney, June G. The motor car stolon by an alleged i German escapee was found abandoned on the road near Medlow.
