I HiS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. MARY PIOKFOKD AS "RAGS." The most popular picture-player in the world, Mary Pickford, attracted n crowded house at His Majesty's Theatre last night. Alary Pickford is undeniably most at home as the rugged uncouth character such as that of the heroine in ".Rags." The story commences with the wooing of Alice McCloud by a hank manager and by his cashier, Ferguson. The cashier marries Alice and they go West. Ferguson takes to drink, and his wife dies, leaving him a tiny inI fant daughter. Sixteen years elapse, j and the former infant, now known as
"Rags," is a wild, unkempt girl who dominates the camp at Blind Man's 'Gulch. The film which is 6000 ft. in length was watched with interest throughout, the audience frequently applauding. The War Gazette show* ed some excellent items, and a splendid comedy by the Vitagraph completed the programme.
