THE WOWSERISTIC SPIRIT. LUnitvo I’hkhs asbociation.4 (Received 1.40 p.m.) London, May 24. The Rev. Gascoyne Cecil, in a letter to the newspapers, -condemns the rejoicings on Empire Day. He writes: “These scorn impious boastings, and may bring the Divine wrath on our arms. Country after country was added to our territories before we began boasting, but since Empire Day was kept God’s blessing has been withheld. Wo ought to be penitential and pray that we bo not for pride.
