This discovery I was .followed by another when a wolnanj apparently shot through the back,;Mas found lying a'few feet away. A five-chambered revolver avus close at ,hand, with two discharged cliaiiibors. The woman was partially 1 ' conscious.' Both sufferers were taken to the hospital, and according to a brief account given by the woman, she had "'been shot by Devoin. The young wriman resided with: her step-parents <in Devon 'street. -•■-♦

I The tragedy was again brought under public notice last Thursday, when Devoin was charged at the Supreme Court with attempted suicide and attempted murder. On the application of Mr V. R. Meredith, representing 'the Crown, a remand was granted, as the woman had taken a change for the worse and was not expected to recover.

I The case now bears a much more serious aspect, as a charge of murder will be laid against Devoin. As the present sitting of the Supreme Court will shortly conclude, the case will have to be heard at the next sitting of the court 5 which opens on August "th this being the date to which the case was adjourned.
