POSTAL RATES. Letters and Letter Cards.—lnland (including Cook Islands), Id for ean. 4oz. or fraction thereof, and id for each succeeding 2oz, Nnited Kingdom, British possessions, United States, Chili, Costa Rica, Egypt Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Peru, Pago Pago. Paraguay, Portugal, and Portuguese Colonies, Siam. Servia. and Postal Agencies in Chinese Treaty Ports. Id. for each oz. or fraction thereof ;, all other places 2id for the first ox;, or fraction thereof, and lid for each succeeding oz. or fraction thereof.

Magazines (registered), inland, id for every Boz. or fraction thereof. Foreign, id per, 2oz. or fraction thereof One end must be left open. Pattern a«d Sample Packets. —In land, id first 2oz. or fraction thereof; over 2oz. as for “all other places.” All other places, Id first 40z., every additional 2oz. or fraction id. Registration,—2d additional for all places. War Tax.- -id additional, is required on all the above. ■' Newspapers. —Town and Inland id each, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, -Ceylon, India. Jamaica. Natal, Orange River, South Sea Islands, and Transvaal. Id each paper. If under Boz. sent by first available route; over Boz. sent by direct steamer only ; unless specially addressed and paid at rate of 'H for first 4oz. and id for each succeeding 2oz. All other places id each under 4oz, and -d ° ! 'ch extra 2oz.
TELEPHONES.
Cnarges.—At Exchanges continuous ly open—Business establishments. £7; private residences, £o per annum. Exchanges not continuously open, an equal charge of £5. Telephone Exchanges at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin. Invercargill, Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North, and Wanganui are open all day and all night. The other Fixchanges chiefly from 9 a.in. to 5 p.m. PARCEL POST.
Parcels posted in the Dominion for delivery in New Zealand, not exceed-
£d additional war tax required on each parcel. Money Orders. (By Post./— layable in New Zealand tor each £5 or fraction of £5. 3d. Commonwealth, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga, od; Is; £7, Is 6d; £lO, 2s; £l2, 2s bd; £ls. 3s; £l7, 3s (jd, £2O; 4s; maximum' £4O. United Kingdom, British Possessions, Canada.
