PROPOSED INDEMNITY.
[United Press Association.] Borne, April 18
At a recent conference of German bankers, the Finance Minister declared that Germany will impose an indemnity of at least fifty milliards of marks. (Taking the mark at its highest normal ruling value (Ilf), in English money, the indemnity (?) proposed to be imposed is, roughly, £2,500,000,000! The indemnity exacted from the French after the Frauco-Prussian war vas £200,000.000).
