The Morning Post’s correspondent at Budapest 1 }! reports that negotiations between the United States and Germany are being eagerly followed in Austria-Hungary.' Count, Tisza (Premier) is vehemently opposing any policy that is likely to lead to rupture between the two countries. The question was discussed by the Austro-Hun-garian delegates who met at Budapesth, and they decided to take certain definite steps in Berlin in' connection with the situation. Moreover, it is stated that should a break occur, Austria-Hungary will take no cognisance of the rupture, but will endeavour to continue her friendly relations with the United States.

Wolfe von Igel, formerly secretary to Captain von Papen, was arrested after a fierce struggle with detectives in i von Papen’s office. The detectives secured their prisoner only after bursting in the door and threatening him with revolvers. Incriminating documents were found.
