ENEMY’S INACTION AT VERDUN
London, April 17
The Paris , press -states that Germany's comparative inaction on .die Verdun front is cine to the profitless big attack on April 9, resulting in iheavy losses and insignificant gains. .They have now adopted prudent |methods, and are trying to advance by ' small stages in local actions. The Journal says that they are endeavoring to weaken the French lines by continuous , shocks, and incessant movements at different points, probably preluding another general attack, which is more unlikely to be .successful than the others, because the enemy have already used their utmost available force.
