It is believed that they are attempting to force an entrance to the Gulf of Riga, which is now free of ice. A. violent cannonade has been heard. SUBMARINE ViCTIMS. THE DAILY TOLk London, April 5. A German submarine toTpetloed and sank the steamer Clan Campbell in the Mediterranean, without warning. The crew were saved. An Austrian submarine sunk the John Pritchard in the Mediterranean.
A submarine bombed and torpedoed the Norwegian sailer Elislieleue in the North Sea. The vessel was not sunk, and the crew were saved.
GERMAN SUBMARINE SUNK. CREW MADE PRISONERS. (Received 9.0 a.m.) Paris, April 6. Official.—An Anglo-French flotilla sank a Gorman submarine, and the officers and crew were taken prisoners.
