In connection with the Tikokino show last week (writes the correspondent of the Hawke's Bay Herald), a rather amusing incident occurred. One ■ of the farmers from the Gwavas settle,'rnent drove over in the evening with his family to attend the show. Ho travelled live miles—coming and going back—and crossed a very rough creek bed. Judge his surprise on his return, when pushing the buggy into the shed, to find that his fowls were all comfortably perched on the back axle. They had gone to roost before he left home, and had travelled sabely over to Tikokino and back without their presence being known to Die occupants of the vehicle. The strangest part of all is that they were allowed to remain there while in Tikokino, for light lingers were at work among the motor cars as well as inside the hall that evening.
