PERSONAL.

A London cable announces the marriage of Earl Russell to Countess von Armin, the authoress.

At last night’s meeting of the Employers’ Association, Mr W. McDonald was appointed to represent the Association at the Arbitration Court, New Plymouth, on Thursday.

Mr R. M. Peattie, who has been on holiday leave, resumed his duties as stationmaster this morning, Mr J. O’Shea (relieving officer) proceeding to Patea.

Mr W. H. Barlow while at work on Friday met with a painful accident. He was on the scaffolding of a building, and on alighting on the ground had the misfortune to run a nail through his foot.

Mrs J. Savage, of Tutntawa, has received word that her brother, Private J. R. Moir, of Queensland, who was reported wounded, was killed at the landing afc Gallipoli. Miss Moir, of Huiroa. is also a sister of the deceased soldier.

Mr R. Spence (of the legal firm Spence and Stanford) has received official notice to leave Stratford on Monday morning next to proceed to N.C.O. Camp, for the Seventeenth Reinforcements. Mr S. Macalister (of the legal firm, Rutherfurd, Macalister and Coleman) also leaves on Monday to go into Camp as N.C.O. Supernumerary. For two well-known solicitors to leave a town of Stratford’s size on the same day to serve with the military forces, is surely something of a record. Stratford’s legal firms have already supplied a full contribution of soldiers for the King.
