THE HUNTLY MINES.
FEDERATION TAKING ACTION. There is possibility of trouble between the Miners' Federation-and the Taupiri Mines Company, Ltd. (.writes the'Huntly correspondent ot the Auckland Star). The Federation inspectors are supposed to have presented a report recently in regard to the condition of the Extended mine, particularly in regard to parts beneath the river and lake, urging that they should he filled in. Mr 'Heed, Clue! Inspector of Mines, has also mm' l ' a report on the, matter. A meeting ol miners discussed and confirmed recommendations forwarded by the Federation, and it is said that the Federation will serve the company with seven (lays' notice to commence idling in operations. What the miners' attitude will be if the company refuses is not stated. There is also a rumour that the company intends shortly to open the new mine, at Awaroa, a few miles out of Huntly.
