N.Z. LOAN AND M.A. CO'S. j REPORT. The N T .Z. Loan and Mercantile Ag- § ency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, re-j port as follows: I On Friday, 2th February, we held pur Ptiniwhakau sale in Mr H. B.', Worthington's yards (by bis kind permission), when we had a yarding of 40 cattle and 2100 sheep.. We sold all* the cattle and practically all tbe sheep witb the exception of a small line of lambs. There was a large attendance of outside buyers. Prices throughout were very good. Mixed weaners 375, 4 year old ewes 21s Id to 22s Bd, I and 0 tooth wethers 23s 6d to 255, 2 tooth wethers 21s ij(\ to 235, 2 tooth ewes (small) 21s lOd, lambs 9s 8d to 145,, pull ewes 12s Id to 14s, 4 and 6 tothi ewes 255. I On Thursday, March 2nd, we held ( our supplementary sheep fair in our, Kohuratahi yards, when we yarded, 1900 sheep, all of which were sold ex-. ce.pt one line of 4-tooth wethers. Prices were good, but several lines were, passed at the hammer and sold after-j wards. 3 and 4 year ewes 20s to 24s 6d for early shorn, 2, 4 and 6 tooth ewes 23s 7d, 4 and 5 year ewes 12s lid to 19s 9d, 4 tooth wethers 23s 0d to' 24s Od. 2'tooth wethers 22V 2d'to 22s'' 4d, 2 tootli ewes 24s lOd, 6 tooth Pom-} ney vauis 4 : \gns;,/f.m. ' On. Friday, 3rd March, Twe dield our monthly sale in our Te Wera yards, when we had a yarding of 65 head of aatile and 1950 sheep, most of which were disposed of. Lambs 13s to 15s lOd, f.m. ewes 13s to 19s 4d, 4 tooth wethers 23s Gd, mixed aged ewes 25s Id, 3 year bullocks £lO 15s, store cows £3 7s 6d to £5 for small, and £5 10s to £7, bulls £5 10s to £lO, 2 year empty heifers £4 15s, weaner steers, 40s, weaner heifers 26s to 30s. Our next Te Wera sale will be'held on Friday. 31st March. 611 Monday, 6th March, we held our supplementary sheep fair in our Stratford yards, when we yarded over 4000 sheep.. On Tuesday, 7th March, we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when we yarded 450 head of sheep, all of which wore and 358 .head of cattle, which were mostly cleared at better prices than those ruling of late. Cull ewes 9s to lis 9d. good lambs lis 6d to 14s 9d, bulls £5 to £7 for medium, £8 to £lO 10s for heavy, and up to £l2, fat cows £8 7s 6d to £lO .'ls 6(1, forward cows £6 15s to £B, store cows £4 10s to £6. 3 year bullocks £l2 Is, weaner steers 36s to 45s and 525, up to 56s 6d for best, weaner heifers 21s 6d tp 355, and up to 46s for choice Holstein heifers. 18 months in calf heifers £4 2.; Gd to £5. Our next sale will be held on Tuesday. 21st inst. On Tuesday, 7th inst.. we also held our monthly sale of wool, sheepskins, hides, etc., when we offered a cata-
logue of 192 packages of wool with vgood supporting quantities of sheepskins, hides, etc. There was a good attendance of buyers. Sheepskins showed a drop of Id per lb., and fleece wool, bale and bag a drop of jfd per lb, and lambs' wool a drop of Jd, no doubt , in sympathy with latest London cable ' advices. Our next wool, skin and hide sale will be held on 4th April. j On Thursday, 9r,h inst., we held our second sale in our Tarata yards, when we had an extra heavy yarding ot sheep and cattle, having to hold several lines of cattle in the road.. : Py ! next sale we hope to have four, yards I complete. "The yarding consisted' of 2500 sheep and 340 head of cattle, of which we sold' practically' alb the sheep and a large proportion of the cattle. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received tbe following cablegram from their London bouse under date 9th March, 1010:—Wool sales are weaker, irregular and lower than February sth. Superior merino scoured medium 5 to 7 per cent; inferior, 10 per cent; greasy, medium, inferior, 10 to 15 per cent: fine crossbred 5 to 7$ per cent; medium, coarse and slipe, 7j| to 10 per cent (all lower).
LONDON WOOL SALES. Unttrd Pkkbs Association. (Received 8.35 a.m.) London, March 12. Wool.—A better tone continues, and prices are in sellers' favor. To date 62,481 bales were catalogued, and 51,774 sold. The following prices were realised for the fleece portions of New Zealand clips: "Ngatapa" top 19d, average 18d. "Moriutaria," 23 Jd and 22£d.. "Pushy Hill." 18d and 17id. "Annedale," 20d and 18gd. "Tnutana'' 20d and 19 l d.
