DROWNED SN THE MANAWATU. Pee Press Association. Foxton. March 6. A drowning fatality occurred in the Manawatu river at Moutoa yesterday afternoon, when Ambrose Bowe aged 21, a son of a well-known settler, lost his life. He was on a raft and slipped, and knocked his head on the raft or a snag and never rose to the surface. Two others witnessed the accident, which occurred in a deep hole. The body was recovered about two hours later, when a large bruise was noticed on the forehead.
