Justice Cooper have judgment in an action by John Williams Bines against Edwin Clements, claiming £3OO damages for alleged false representations in the negotiations for purchase by plaintiff of "certain land in the Whangarei district. His Honor held that the statements by defendant were false and fraudulent for the purpose of inducing plaintiff to buy the property, and were the material factor in inducing pwntift to buy. In His Honor’s opinion, £IOO was a fair sum for the damage, and he gave judgment for that amount, with costs on the louei scale. 1 -A,
