IN BANKRUPTCY.
ESTATE OF THOMAS TAYLOR
A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Thomas 'fnylor, A.vatuna, was held at the Fltham Courthouse yesterday morning, when Mi' .). B. Richards, Deputy Oificml Assignee, presided. The following creditors were present: Messrs J. Masters, F. C. Booth, G. Cooper (Loan and Mercantile Co.), T. B. Crump (G. Death), J. L. Were (Wickham. Bros., Wickham and Mcßeth, Harding Bros., Allen Bros., N. 1). Connell, Marshall and Correy. R. F. Walker. W. Searle), G. 1). Gow (.1. K. Silby and R. Mills). Mr Stewart represented the bankrupt.
The unsecured creditors were: Allen Bros. £(SB 9s lOd, Wickham Bros. £l-1 19s 6d, Wickham and Mcßeth £ls 3s Id, A. G. Bennett £l2 Is -Id, M. Held £7 -Is 7d, Marshall and Corey £lO, N.Z.L. and M.A. Co. £7 lis Bd, E. Harding £3 lis 9d, Manaia County Council £3 ss, E. -Mills £B, F. C. Booth £6 10s, W. A. Parkinson and Co.. Ltd., £l2 ]4s*#d, C. Hodgson £5 15s, T. J. Shaw £lB 14s Bd, Geo. Smith (fnglewood) £l2 10s, N. D. Connell £4 7s 2d, W. G. Sperring £2 15s, A. T. Bertie £4 17s, R. Walker £3 15s 9d, J. K. Silby £ls 3s 7d, Masters and Son (Stratford) £8 3s 7d, A. E. King £8 6s 2d, McVeagh, Morison and Stewart £lB 3s, Hurst and Byrne £6 3s.
Bankrupt, in his sworn statement, said he had been farming in the Taranaki district for live years. He was willing to sell the racehorses, Glacier and Iceberg, for the benefit of the creditors. The statement also showed that the amount owing to unsecured creditors totalled £268 5s 2d, and the secured creditors £547; estimated value of securities £1135, showing a surplus of £3OB Is. The secured creditors were: J. Bridge £2OB (mortgage of lease of farm) Awatuna Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., £219 3s 9d (chattel security); J. R. L. Stanford £l2O (chattel security and collateral with security of lease). It was decided that steps be taken to sell the stock, chattels and racehorses, and also the. goodwill of the lease by public auction.
The bankrupt was engaged to carry on the farm until the sale of the stock, and it was decided to hand the furniture back to the bankrupt. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the Deputy Official Assignee.
