At the Taranaki County Council meeting yesterday a discussion bookplate on the special regarding the construction of concrete roads, submitted by the engineer, who stated that he had gone carefully into the question and estimated the cost would he 8s per square yard. That provided for a hand packed span] Inundation with a layer of tin. concrete and finished off with tar seal. The cost worked out at £3744 per mile for a Itift, road. After discussing the report at some length it was decided that the cost was too great lor the Council to undertake at the present time.
