General Candler reports that a rise i" the river inundated the Turkish portion at Kute-el-Amara. The enemy evacuated the entire length of trenches on our north-west front, falling hack two thousand yards. General Townshend's reconoitring patrol advanced twelve hundred yards and occupied twenty-two rows of deep, with trendies miles of communications honeycombing the whole nosition.
General Towshend wirelesses daily to the force advancing up the Tigris.
