ECMONT MEETING. (Notes by Cicero.) A large number of Stratford sportsmen intend helping at the Kgmont Summer Meeting this week. Jbe acceptances are not up to the standard of many former years, but nevertheless some capital racing should eventuate. Seven out of eight nominated paid up for the O'hawe Hurdles. Both Florist and Collector are remarkably well handicapped. Indeed many good judges expected the pair would be handicapped at twelve or fourteen pounds more. Possibly Collector will he favorite, but Florist will not want for friends. Of the dozen acceptors for the Flying Bimeter and Astor should divide favoritism. The large number of twenty-one figure in the Mere Mere Hack. Munition and Interlude are good beginners, a necessary qualification for a race ol this discription. Seven only paid up for the Cup, a poor field for a £SOO prize. However, what the race lacks in quantity is more than made up oy quality and a splendid contest should result. The top weight Merry Hoe (9.0) did not produce her best form at the late Fllersiie meeting, although 1 may here mention that • she ran second to Desert Cold in the Islington Plate, the mile being run in 1.39. Welcome Nugget (8-10) has not been favored by Mr Morse, but despite this will put up a great light, particulaih if the race is a fkst run one. Emperador (8.7) is in lightly, and if startedwill touch a short price. Jneuru (.7.9), is fancied in certain quarters.' Byron (6.13) ran a couple of fair races at Christmas, but is not getting any younger. Moulu (6.12) ran second' in the Otago Cup and also showed form at the recent Trenthvm meeting. Court Martial (6.11) has not done well of late. Kmporador, Welcome Nugget and Moulu may.provide a good finish, A shockingly had lot are engaged in the Ladies’ Purse, but Chaban and Mahlstick appear the best of them. Thirteen accepted for the Waipapa Hack and Black Ada, Pararoa and Sylvan Dale are a likely trio. Despite a load of 10.3 Crown Pearl will in all probability start favorite for the Whnroroa Welter, and Bertrada and Combustion may he his most dangerous opponents.

THE TAKAPUNA MEETING. Racing at Takapuna will be iesnmcd to-morrow. The delay in bringing this meeting to a conclusion has seriously affected the Egmont Club. Jockeys -Dee-ley. and iVKISyJT.n, who had engagements at the latter fixture, will • have to forego the same, owing to previous appointments at, Takapuna. The Moana Handicap will posisbly be fought out by Lady Gwendoline and Scrap o’ Paper. Tarurua Jack won easily on Saturday, and must be hard to beat in the Maiden Hurdles. Denise Orme should have no difficulty m defeating those opposing her for the Suburban Handicap. King Lupin, despite a load of 9.8. must take beating in the Takapuna Handicap. Although unplaced the first day, Rekanui may be depended on on put up a big fight for the Hobson Handicap. House„R'e i s better than her first day’s winning indicates, and may take a hand in the settlement of the Rangitoto Handicap. St. Louis was most ml " Incky on Saturday, and the writer will he surprised if he does not do better in the Waiwera Hurdles, Soultane’s form on the first day was wrong, and in the Anniversary Handicap his turn may come. _____
