TARANAKI LAND BALLOT. A ballot tor sections in the Taranaki district was held at Taumarunui, on ■ Monday. Altogether 5388 acres wcrej offered, in areas varying from six j acres to 741 acres. 606 applications' were received for 25 sections, and all the land was selected, except Section 12, block X, Totoro. One discharged soldier, who had preference with married men with dependents, w;fs successful in drawing a section.
