PROPOSED NEW CAPITAL. CARRANZA’S NATURE-GARDEN CITY. United Press Association. ( Received 9.0 a.m.) New York, Jaunary 24. President Carranza and his Cabinet have decided to found a new capital of Mexico at Dolores, in the State of which is Hidalgo, the geographical centre of the Republic. The old buildings will be razed to build a home for the future president, which will be a nature-garden city, partly on the Washington model.

It is proposed to sell the majority of the public buildings in Mexico City with the exception of the National Palace and the Governor’s Palace. It is' thought that if ten millions sterling is raised, it will bp sufficient to begin operations.

(Hidalgo is hounded .on the South by the States of Mexico and Flaxcala, It is crossed in the north and northeast by the Siena Mad re range of mountains. This part is wild and mountainous, the highest peak being Terra de Navajas( 10,528 feet). Ihe south arid west, however, contain many fertile valleys. Mining is the chief industry, silver, gold, quicksilver, copper, lead, iron, and zinc, being worked. The area of the state is 8,917 square miles, and there is » population oi about 15,000.
