• FOUND DROWNED. 1 Per Press Association. Auckland, January 14. At the inquest concerning the death of Markwick Ashdown Sivyer, whose body was recovered from a waterhole in a creek at Swanson, it was stated that deceased left the following note: “Find me at Freeman’s Bridge— Mark.” A verdict was returned that deceased was found drowned under circumstances pointing to suicide. A FARMER’S SUICIDE. Carterton, January 16. William Charles Zabel, aged 43 years, a- dairy farmer, committed suicide by shooting himself on Saturday night. He leaves - a wif© and five children. WELL-KNOWN BUILDER’S DEATH Wellington, January 16.
Mr Henry Gray, of the contracting firm of McLean and Gray, who are now buildirig the new Clnb Hotel on Lambton Quay, died last evening as the result of an accident on the job. While Gray was standing on the ground a smfill pinch bar fell from the third floor a distance of about forty feet, and struck him on the top of the head, penetrating about three inches. He was picked up in a few minutes and medical aid was summoned, but though an operation was performed lie sank and died. Deceased was a native of the Orkney Island, and was about 40 years old.
