The value of the mineral output of New South Wales decreased £1,250,000 compared to the amount during the previous year, the principal decrease being due to the closing of copper mines. The gold output was well maintained.
The wholesale price of the best butter has been reduced to 135 s 4d, and the second quality to 130 s 4d. The birth rate in the metropolitan area for the past quarter was 11.5 per cent below the average.
The coal production of New South Wales for 1914 amounted to 10,390,622 tons, valued at £3,737,781. The shipments of coal from Newcastle totalled 4,270,492 tous ? compared to 5,318,906 in the previous year. V Adelaide, January 4.
The revenue in South Australia lor the half year was £17,553,494, being a decline of £10,132.
