Private Gcdgo, who returned from the firing line by the Maheno, is due to arrive in Stratford this evening, having left Wellington by the mail this morning.
Adjutant Cook, who is at present in charge of the Salvation Army’s Stratford district, has received notice to “farewell” on January loth, though he has not been informed of the district to which he is being transferred.
Many friends in Stratford will learn ‘with regret of the death of Mr William Ireland, an old Stratfordian and brother to Mr G. E. Ireland. The late Mr Ireland was only 39 years of age. His death took place at the Taumaranui Hospital.
Messrs W. M. J. Murray (Waitara), C. Fineham (Toko), A. Tnglis (Toko), F. J. Ralfe (Eltham), B. 1). Bayly (Tutetawa), J. T. Mills (Midhirst), A. L. Cragie (Kohurataki) and S. Medcalfe (Pohokura) have lieen passed as modi call v fit for the Reinforcements.
