STRONG RUSSIAN DETACHMENTS [United Pkess Association.] Aniserdam, December .‘SO. A German communique states:— Strong Russian detachments attacked north-eastward of Tnkkuni, but Ruled. THE CAMPAIGN IN BESSARABIA Amsterdam, December 80. A Vienna wireless states: There have been repeated Russian attacks on the Bessarabia front and on the Dneister. North-east of Zaleszczyke a Sanguinary attack was repulsed. The enemy made special efforts between tlie path and the' wooden zone north of Toporautz. ■ Five infantry attacks which were made in masses of fifteen rows deep broke clown under our artillery fire. A later Austrian communique states that the Russian attacks were renewed, but again collapsed. It ■ adds : We withdrew east of Burkanow, on the Straps, MONTENEGRIN SUCCESS. ■i Amsterdam, .December 30. A Montenegrin official message states; o.ur success at LepWetz on December 23 was greater than was supposed. We found 500 dead on the Austrian right wing. The total enemy losses were 2000.
