(Received 10.10 a.m.) Melbourne, December 28. 1 One of tlie greatest blazes in the history of Melbourne broke out yesterday afternoon, when a three-storey-ed building occupied by Andrew, Jack, Dyson and Co., wholesale stationers, in Collins Street, near King Street, was completely burnt out. The flames had secured a good hold, when the brigades arrived, and they spread rapidly to the neighbouring Aberleen buildings, the top storey of which was burnt out. The brigade finally controlled the tire, many soldiers assisting firemen in keeping back the crowd. Tram traffic in Collins street was suspended. The damage andthe amount of insurances is unknown.
