AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE.

“LIL O’ LONDON.”

“Lil o’ London,” a society drama, well constructed and powerfully portrayed, heads the new series of films at His Majesty’s Theatre. The loading role is played, by Miss Edna Flugrath, whoso clever acting is attracting a great deal of attention in England at present, Lil is a child ol the underworld, who has to support her little sister. A young club man of sympathetic disposition takes compassion on the outcast, and allows her to share part of his Hat. Lil’s father, a criminal, burglarises the flat, and grim tragedy follows. Eventually, however, there is a fitting termination. “The Phantom Thief” is another appealing drama. In happy vein are “Hogan’s Aristocratic Dream” (a Keystone comedy) and “William Henry Jones’s Courtship.” Other supplementary films in a capital programme are the latest Topical Gazette and “Picturesque California.” This programme will be screened for the last time to-night.
