N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO., LTD.

The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, report as follows: — On Saturday, 27th November, for our Stratford horse fair, wo had a fair entry of horses, and the following prices were realised: —Half-draught horses £2l to £27 ss, harness horses £6 10s to £l2 10s, good remounts £l3 17s 6d to £2O, hacks £4 4s to £9, ponies £4 to £4 ss, yearling fillies £4 17s 6d to £6, horse, gig and harness £2O 15s, mare and foal £3 12s. On Tuesday, 30th November, we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when we had a yarding of 341. head of cattle, of which we sold 149, the prices realised being as follows:—Fat cows £8 to £9 15s, forjward cows £5 to £7 17s, good store cows £5 10s to £6 10s, poorer store cows £4 10s to £5 Bs, store cows (poor land thin) £3 13s to £1 7s 6d, calved heifers £4 7s 6d to £4 12s 6d, 18. j month steers £3 18s 6d, 2J year steers ! £4 17s 6d to £5 Is, yearling heifers £2 5s to £3, 1.8 months heifers £3 10s, 2 year heifers £4 Bs, bulls £3 17s 6d to £4 Is.

On Tuesday, 30th November, we also held our springing heifer sale in our Stratford yards, when we had a yarding of 25 head of cattto, prices secured being as follows: Good big springing heifers £7 to £8 10s, for smaller springing heifers, but good cruality, £5 10s to £6, for poor, small springing heifers £3 12s 6d to £4 15s, calved heifers £6 15s to £7 15s, springing cows £7 10s to £lO, calved cows £7 15s. - \

On Tuesday, 30th November, we also held our pig sale in our Stratford yards, when we had a yarding of 35 pigs, all of which were disposed of at the following prices:—Good store pigs 28s to 295, for smaller store pigs 17s to 19s, for small store pigs (thin) 10s to 15s, for very young pigs 6s 6d. Our next Stratford sale will be held Tuesday, 1-ith December. Since we last reported we have disposed of a good deal of stock privately and we quote the following prices: —2 year heifers £3 10s to £4 ss, yearling heifers £2 12s 6d, 15 month steers £3 13s Gd to £3 10s 6d, 18 month steers £1 Is, 3 year bullocks £8 5s to £9 10s, 1 year bullocks £l3, 2 year steers £1 15s to £7, fat cows £ll 7s (3d, store cows £-5 ss, dairy heifers £8 8s to £6 10s, springing heifers £1 lis Gd, dairy cows £8 10s, hoggets 22s Gd to 23s 9d, owes and lambs -'Gs Gd to 32s Gd, fat ewes 225.
