On Friday, tlio l!)tli ilist., at my Waiwakaiho yards, I had a. full yarding of cattle with a representative:attendance of buyers for all classes, springing heifers being the only class that did not meet with keen enquiry. Prices obtained were:—-15 months well grown Shorthorn heifers (good) £3 7s, 15 months (very nice quality Jersey heifers) £4 (small line), others (15 months heifers) £2 2s to £3 3s, Shorthorn 15 months steers (tops) £4 4s, fair cattle £3 18s to £4 2s 6d for an exceptionally nice line of Shorthorn on account of Mr L. Bidding throughout was good, a big proportion* of the yarding cleared at the. hammer -‘at. thef following prices:—ls month steers £3 17s 6cl to £4 Bs, yearlings, to, £3 10s, ,2 year steers from £4 18s 6d for rough to £6 15s, 2 year empty heifers £4 3s, 6d to £4 14s 6d, good 15 months heifers £3 3s to £4, small 38s 6d to £2 3s, bulls £5 10s to £lO, yearlings £3 5s to £4 2s 6d, fat cows £8 18s to £lO 14s, forward cows £7 11s to £B, good store cows £5 17s to £6 19s 6d, smaller cows £3 10s to £4 18s 6d, fat shorn ewes 225, woolly hoggets 25s 7d, ewes and lambs 28s 4d, empty ewes 25s to 25s 9d. ■ln the springing heifer yards I had a good entry, the demand, considering the time of the year, being very good for the best quality. Four choice heifers on account of Mr A. Boyd, of Toko, made £ll. Other good heifers,. U p to £9 7s 6d, smaller £5 17s 6d to £0 17s 6d, small £4 to £5 ss. At Stoney River yards on Wednesday, the 24th inst., I had a good yarding of mostly first-class cattle, which sold readily at very satisfactory piices as follows ;—ls months steers £4 Is fid to £2 17s 6d, yearling heifers £2 5s to £2 Bs, 15 months bulls £3 15s to £5 15s, empty 2 year heifers £4 15s, 2 year steers £6 3s, Jerseys £4 Us. 3 year steers £8 15s, 3J- year bullocks £lO 2s, medium fat cows £9 12s 6d to £9 19s, light fat cows £8 5s to £8 15s, store cows from £5 6s to £7 is 6d, according to frame and condition. Heavy Shorthorn bull .£l6 ss, light £5 10s to £8 15s, pair working bullocks £32, weaner to store pigs 12s 6d to £1 2s. Private sales for the week:—Yearling to 15 months steers £3 15s do £4 ss, yearling to 15 months heifers £2 2s 6d to £2 14s, 2 year steers (good) £7 IDs, 21 and 3 year steers £9, Siyear bullocks £lO 10s, fat bullocks. £l4 ss, fat cows £9 12s 6d to £lO !ss, store to forward cows £6 to £8 4s, fat wethers 365, fat shorn ewes 21s 6d, mixed 2-tooths in' the wool 20s to 24s 6d, 2 tooth wethers (shorn) 17s 6d, owes and lambs 24s to 30s, empt\ ewes (woolly) 24s to 26s 6d.
