MONTHLY MEETING. A the monthly mooting of the AA hangamomona Council liold last week, Cr A. Meredith (chsiirmiyi) presided, and there were present: Crs AA r . A. MeCntchan, M. Geever, T, H. On Cr MeCutchan’s motion, seconded hy Cr Mounsoy, it was decided that the matter of the Chairman and deputation set up to wait on the Postmaster, Stratford, to obtain improved postal service to Tahora no extended until next meeting. | 11 was decided on the motion of Cr Monnsey, that the deputation appointed to wait on the Resident Engineer re conditions of expenditure of subsidy for flood damages ho granted one month’s extension of time in which to report. i The Engineer was instructed to renew one flood-opener on Tvohnrataln road as soon as possible. The Engineer was also instructed to give effect to Ids own proposals for renewal of culvert on Marco road. Cr MeCntchan moved and Cr MeC 1 uggage seconded: That the Engineer he instructed to put iu hand the matter of renewing Marco road bridge; and arrange to let the work, jwhen plans and specifications are! prepare*,}.—Carried. The Engineer’s report was read and adopted. On Cr Meredith’s motion, it was decided; That the matter of Rev. A. D. Nome's■ lease of .road reserve on Prospect road he held over for one month, and Cr Geever in the meantime he asked to, request Mrs Brown to apply for lease if she wishes to remain on the reserve, and Mr Nome ho notified accordingly. John O’Connor, of Makahn, waited on the Council in regard to building a bridge to give access to Ids section — No action was taken. CORRESPONDENCE. Rutherford, Macalister and Coleman wrote re .’tramway license to ,1. McC luggage.— Received. A letter was received from C. Cr Meredith moved: That a special order authorising the raising of £ISOO loan for metalling Put'ikituna road he adopted. Seconded by Cr Geevar, and carried. On Cr McCntchan’s motion, it was decided : That a special order antho-

rising the raising of a loan for £3OO for the Maiigapapa stream bridge bo adopted. Cr Geever moved and. Cr McCutchan seconded: That a special order authorising the raising of the No. 2 Whanga Bridge Loan of £750 he. adopted.—Carried. () n the Chairman’s motion, it was decided: That a special order authorising the Mangaotuku Stream Bridge Loan. Kirai road, of £2OO, be adopted. The Clerk was instructed to write to .1. Speight regarding pigs rooting on Brewer road. A motion was carried confirming the action of Cr Cleland in putting on two men for urgent road works. The Hiding members and the Engineer were authorised to appoint a foreman for the Tahora Hiding. On Cr McCluggage’s motion, it was decided: That tenders, to close next meeting, be called for the supply of dog collars, and alsp for the appointment of dog tax collector upon the same terms as last year; and that-the registration, fee be 6s for sheep and cattle dogs, and 10s for' all other dogs, reducible in each case by 2s Gel if paid on or before 31st March, 191 G. The next meeting of the Council was fixed for December 20. Cr .Meredithmoved, and Cr McCutchan seconded ; That a license to lay a, tramline on the Ohura road be granted and executed by the Council and Sealed.—Carried. Accounts as read, amounting to £3009 16s 2d, were passed for payment.
