N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO., LTD. The N.Z. Loan aud Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, report as follows; On Tuesday, 9th November, we held our weekly Springing Heifer sale in our Stratford yards. We had a small yarding, but everything was sold, fair heifers making £(> to £7, poorer sorts '£o 12s (id, and dairy cows up to £l9 IDs. In our Pig Pens, we had a small yarding of id pigs, which sold readily. Small stores 22s to 21s Gd, slips 15s, On Friday, November 12th, we hold our monthly Te Wera sale, when wo I had a large yarding of 320 head ol 'cattle, 5G sheep and three pigs. Most !of the stock was disposed of at very 'full values, more particularly lor forI ward store cows. There was a large * attendance of the public, and the sale was a great success. Forward cows, fair weights £7 to £7 12s 6d, heavier sorts £7 14s Gd, good stores (light) £5 Ids to, £0 9s, heavier sorts £G 10s 6d to £0 Ids, poorer lines £o 3s to £d 7s Gd, 3-year-old empty heifers £4 Ids to £d 3s, 2-year-olds £3 19s to £3 19s Gd, yearling heifers (small) 40s to dOs, medium 52s 6d, 18-months steers 103 s, 2-year-old steers (nice line) 1245, 2jyear steers £7 16s, yearling steel s 7s Gd to £3 11s, springing heifers 85s to 95s lor small, medium quality 102 s Gd to 107 s Gd, bulls, 2-year-olds 70s to 88s, medium weights 90s to His, well-grown animals 142 s to 152 Gd, fat and forward owes 2Gs 7d, store pige 25s Gd. At this sale we offered on behalf of the Wounded Soldiers’ Fund, on account of Mrs O. Saugster aud Co., one hack, donated by Owen McAloon Lsq., which was soid and re-sold as follows Purchased oy U. McAloon, Ci. H. Kawlmson, A. H. Perry (.Loan Co.), C. H- West, Win. McAloon, at 5s each. Our next Te Wera sale will b© hold Friday, I December lUth.

On Tuesday, 16th lust., we held our usual fortnightly sale iu our Stratford yards, when wo had a fair yarding of 236 head, most of which were sold at the following satisfactory prices:— Poor store cows from 100 s to 119 s, aged and thin from /Us to 98s; good stores from 120 s to 138 s, forward cows 110 s to 1555, good cows from 160 s to 172 s 6d, 18-months to 2-year-old heifers Gls'to 755, yearling heifers (small) 41 s to 56s for fairly well grown cattie, 18-month steers 745, yearling steers 40s to 565, yearling bulls 50s to 67s 6d, dairy bulls £5 9s to £7 17s 6d.

In our Dairy Yards we had the usual entry of Springing Heifers and a good attendance, but purchases were few, except for cattle ot fail quality. Fair heifers £7 7s to £7 12s, poorer quality £5 10s to £6 12s 6d. In 0111 Pig Pens, stores made 26s each. Since we last reported, we have sold a considerable amount of stock privately, at the following rates:—Fat cows, heavies up to £ll 15s; fair forward cows, £5 10s to £5 ss; small and light, £4 to £5 10s; cow s and calves 90s to 100 s; 3-year-old steers up to £6; yearling steers. 60s to 655; yearling heifers, 3Ys 6d to 47, s 6d; 18-months to 2-year-old heifers, 60s to 85s; spiinging heifers, £6 6s to £6 lus; bulls Irom £3 to £10; ewes and lambs 29s 6d to 22s 6d; dry ewes 265; hoggets 10s, 19s to 225. ,
