McDonald, the pro-, motors, will hp glad to receive contri-. hutions of produce at the C.B.A.' Buildings. • 1 The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 28th inst; —“Active competition good wool; faulty neglected, compared with first October market firm. Good merino, I greasy crossbreds 3 per cent., slipe 2i to 5 higher. America competing.” The Ladies Patriotic Committee desire to acknowledge with thanks the * receipt of a cheque of £5 from Mr G. N. Curtis towards the lied Cross Fund. The Committee also wishes to acknowledge receipt of the following: Mrs C. Griffin, four feather pillows and feathers for throe more. Mr J. Henry ss, Mrs F. Dixon three feather pillows. Miss Hobbs, two pillows, Mrs Cramer, half-dozen pillow slips. A Wellington P.A. telegram this afternoon states: The North Island section of the returned wounded arrived by the Mararoa. Eleven drove through the streets in motors and had ;■ hearty reception. All were entertained at the Town Hall, where neoches of welcome were made hv the Governor, Mr Massey, Sir Joseph Ward, Mr Henries, and the Mayor.
