FIXTURES. Noven ;>er 3, 6—Auckland R.C. V.R.C. MEETING. I United Press Association. Melbourne, October 30. For the first day of the V.R.C. eetiug the weather was fine, and there iwas a big attendance. Results:— Maiden Plate. One mile.—Dame Quickly 1, Liugle 2, Vibratory 3. Nine horses started. Won by two lengths, a neck between second and third. Tie, lmiu Msec. Maribyrong Plate, for two-year-olds. Six furlongs.—Ettefred 1, Irish Comedy 2, Deneb 3. All the acceptors started. Won by two lengths, two lengths separating second and third. Time, lmin 5 3-4 sec. Hotham Handicap, One and a-half miles.—Hush Money 1, Prince Bardolph 2, Meerut 3. Eleven horses started. Won by half a head, Meerut half a neck away. Time 2miu 35Asec. V.R.C. DERBY. Of 3000 sovs., second horse (3UO sovs., and third horse 300 sovs. from stake. One and a-half miles. Mrs E. A. Widdis' br c Patrobas (Wallace—Sizzle), 8.10 1 Mr G. Barnett's b c Cetinge (Grafton— Pretty Nell), 8.10 ... 2 Mr I). XJ. Seaton's br c Westcourt (Bright Steel—Trinket), 8.10 ... 3 Dorby was scratched. From the start Francis Foy and Perambulate led for six furlongs. Then Cetinge and Wallace Isinglass ran to the front. Francis Foy, Perambulate, Patrobas, and Wallace Isinglass led into the straight. Cetinge challenged at the distance, hut Patrobas easily smothered the opposition, and amid a great demonstration won by two and a-half lengths. Westcourt being three-quar-ters of a length behind Cetinge. Time, 2miii 37sec. Melbourne Stakes. One and a quarter miles.—Traquette 1, Garlin 2, Cagou 3. Other starters were: Radnor, Di Gama, Dnazer, St. Carwyne, Burrandabeen, Naxbery, Woorak, Mountain Knight and Carlita. Woorak led to the turn from Traquette and Garlin, but they headed him at the distance, and Traquette won by a short neck, Cagou two lengths away.. Time, 2mm OJsec. Cobiirg Stakes. One mile.—Fidelio 1, King Marco 2, One 3. There were twenty-two starters. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 40Jsec.
