OUR BREAD AND BUTTER. Per Pbess Association. Wellington, October 21. Hon. G. W. Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, states that he has given instructions that when inspectors are weighing bread at any bakery, on behalf of the Department, they are to take a number of loaves, say ten, and weigh them all together. If the gross weight is right then the baker will not be penalised for any slight variation in the separate loaves. If ten loaves do not make full weight the .baker will be prosecuted in respect of loaves which are found to be short weight. ! The same principle is being applied in connection with butter. Inspectors [are watching sales of butter, and weighing packages as occasion arises, in prder to make sure that customers are not being defrauded. HAWKE'S BAY SHOW. Pee PttEBS Association.
