King George, in a letter, expresses his satisfaction at the splendid work achieved by the Red Cross and St. John organisations, to which wounded (soldiers have personally testified. His I Majesty sent a cheque for five hundred ipounds with the letter. j Queen Mary and Queen Alexandria [has issued a message commending tomorrow's Red Cross collection to the :people of the Empire and express then 'gratitude for the past genonous assistance. | The Red Cross Society and Order of St. John are combining on Thursday. Ten thousand ladies are engaged in a collecting campaign, entitled, "Our Day Fund."
