’The Baptist Union at the meeting in Auckland, carried unanimously resolution protesting against the legislation of lotteries for patriotic purposes. Rev. 0. Howard (Lawrence), was admitted as a member of the Union, It was resolved to hold a Selfdenial ! ’week yearly in aid pf Home and Foreign Missions. The treasurer estimates for the etlSuing year that the mgpts will he £1292. and the expendijexclislvtUof;a specfal.grant of £IOO for Timafu.--I’.A.
