Tlte Daily Telegraph’s 1 Rome correspondent says the situation at Constantinople is disastrous. There is an absolute shortage of ammunition. The Government requisition of 'rifetals* lias become the wildest pillage, the police removing the railings from mansions and villas. Jijnyer Pasha is certain the German' arrival i-s imminent, and has, .authorised the commandant at the Dardanelles to use the remaining ammunition in view of expecting early supplies. Turkish' newspapers announce that the Allies are preparing to evacuate Gallipoli.
